Ellie The Doubler family has officially moved back into our home!!! Ellie has been taking naps in her crib for the first time. Its so great to have the nursery back :)

Ellie Ellie is home with Daddy while Mom is at work. Daddy just developed a new technique for giving Ellie the bottle that has worked well twice so far! Go Daddy!!!

First day at daycare

Ellie had her first day at daycare today. Up until now Granny Shay has been watching her when I am at work, or Luke comes home early and I work an evening shift. Today I dropped her off at noon, even though I didnt work until 2:00--just to allow for some cry time. I definitely cried!!! She did well though. She even took a bottle from the daycare attendants!!! Our daycare is AMAZING. I am excited for all of the things she is going to learn there and all of the little friends she is going to make. There is a little girl there who is named Bridget who is also 5 months old. Maybe Ellie and her will become friends. For now they are going to work on teaching eachother how to roll over. Ellie rolled over for the first time this week. The daycare providers said babies teach eachother things. Hopefully she will learn many good habits there :)

Jim the dog eating too many dead things which are giving him both diarrhea and causing him to throw up. It has been a fun day in the Johnson/Doubler household!

Ellie had her first taste of real food this Wednesday before going to church. She had a small amount of organic brown rice cereal mixed in with breastmilk. She took it very well, only spit our about half of it. She actually swallowed it down! Yay, maybe this will be the solution to her not eating when I am at work...stay tuned because I work tomorrow evening.

Ash Wednesday

Ellie's first Ash Wednesday Mass at the Basilica of St Mary in Minneapolis was an exciting day. She was so good for the first half of the mass. She was getting tons of smiles from other church goers because she looked sooo cute in her pretty dress and little bunny boots. Then, she started to fuss. Luke and I decided to sneak out "quietly" when she started to make noise. Oops...Luke bumped the musical elephant attached to her carseat and it started to play a song. Great timing too, as the whole church was silent. Boy the sound of those little toys really can carry through a huge silent church. We got out of there as fast as we could!!! Next time we will leave the elephant at home :) We were definitely the pink elephant in the room at that service.
